- The Omaha Nation Law Enforcement Services is the tribal police agency responsible for protecting and serving the Omaha Nation within the exterior boundaries of the Omaha Indian Reservation, including communities such as Macy, Walthill, Rosalie, and Pender, as well as rural dwelling relatives. The agency was established in 1970, emerging from a long tradition of incorporating Omaha culture into law enforcement practices where the Police are known as “Wanonshe’” the protectors/warriors of the community. The Omaha Nation Law Enforcement Services employs about 30 individuals across departments including Telecommunications, Patrol, and Corrections. The agency operates 24/7 to ensure continuous protection of tribal members and communities. Its mission is to safeguard the safety and well-being of the Omaha Nation, reflecting both traditional tribal values and modern policing standards. The agency has been led by dedicated officers, many of whom have served for extended periods. While some leaders are no longer with the department, their contributions have shaped its current structure and mission of the Police Department. The current Chief of Police is Ansley Griffin Jr., who oversees operations from the agency’s headquarters at 101 Indian Hills, Macy, Nebraska. In summary, Omaha Nation Law Enforcement Services has grown from a 1970 establishment into a culturally grounded, 24/7 operational force, rooted in both tribal heritage and the broader history of Indian police services in the United States using modern-police practices to provide the most up-to-date techniques.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages.
