OUR PURPOSEOur Mission
The mission of the Omaha Tribe’s Mark of Honor Youth Shelter is to contribute support and guidance for our tribal “young relatives” so that they may achieve the best quality of life possible.
Our Services
The Mark of Honor Youth Shelter provides residential care for children and youth up to age 17 who have been removed from their homes and parental care for child abuse, neglect, or sexual assault. The ONFRC will oversee the development of this program to ensure that children, youth, and families will receive adequate services. The Mark of Honor Youth Shelter will provide emergency shelter care for up to 16 children and youth at a time and also has space for family visitation and to provide trauma-focused assessment and counseling for children. There will be an emphasis on creating a strong Omaha cultural influence throughout the services provided for Omaha children.
