OUR PURPOSEOur Mission
The mission of the T.E.R.O Program is to assist the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska in developing effective Indian Preference Laws and T.E.R.O Programs and to ensure that the Native People receive their basic entitlement to employment opportunities on and near the Omaha Tribe reservation.

The primary purpose of the TERO program is to enforce tribally enacted Indian Preference law to ensure that Indian/Alaska Native people gain their rightful share of employment, training, contracting, subcontracting, and business opportunities on and near reservations and native villages.

Skills Bank Pool
TERO maintains a skills bank “hiring pool” to refer Tribal members and other American Indians for available work within its jurisdiction. It also provides clients with skills assessments and conducts career counseling.
In addition, the program coordinates with other Tribal departments, as well as organizations outside of the Tribe, to identify resources that can be applied to provide clients with a variety of career preparation and career advancement training opportunities.
Commission
The TERO Commission is comprised of three appointed commissioners who serve to carry out the provisions of the Ordinance. The Commission conducts public hearings on matters covered in the Ordinance.
