The Omaha Tribe of Nebraska is now accepting applications from qualified individuals to serve on the Omaha Tribe Cannabis Regulatory Commission, the governing body responsible for implementing and overseeing Title 51, our new cannabis law.
The Commission will play a critical role in licensing, regulation, enforcement, and community education as we move forward with creating a safe, legal, and sovereign cannabis industry on the Omaha Reservation.
We are seeking applicants with integrity, sound judgment, and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • Law and public policy
  • Health or substance abuse prevention
  • Law enforcement or compliance
  • Business, finance, or accounting
  • Agriculture, horticulture, or cannabis operations
  • Tribal government or community leadership
Commissioners will be expected to:
  • Attend regular meetings and trainings
  • Review and adopt regulatory rules
  • Participate in licensing and enforcement decisions
  • Maintain confidentiality and impartiality
  • Uphold the Tribe’s values and sovereign authority
Deadline to Apply: Accepting applications until all seats on the Commission are filled.
The form will ask for basic background information, qualifications, and a résumé or statement of interest. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
This is a historic opportunity to help shape a new path for economic development, public health, and tribal self-determination. We encourage all qualified applicants, especially tribal members, to apply.
